At the foot of Grossglockner – the highest Austrian mountain (3798 m) - in the middle of the Hohe Tauern National Park, lies the romantic town of Heiligenblut. Nestled under the peaks of Schareck (2604 m) and Hochfleiss (2,902 m), this ski resort tempts with 55 km of long runs of varying difficulty. As part of the package we get a fantastic alpine panorama of Grossglockner.

During the winter Heiligenblut can only be reached from the south. Grossglocknerstrasse, open during the summer, is also closed in the winter. From afar you can see a parish church built in 1491, a symbol of the town. On the sidelines of the town is the bottom station of the gondola that takes skiers to the top of Schareck. Most routes in Heiligenblut are located over the line of trees, ski runs lead up to a height of 2920 m above sea level. The longest trail of the region leads from the aforementioned Schareck to the valley – altogether it’s a 9 km red route. Thrill-seeking skiers can test their skills on the no. 2 freeride route leading to the Fliessalm station, from where you can reach the highest point of the resort - Hochfleiss.

Heiligenblut is a paradise for lovers of off-piste. 45 hectares of land off the beaten track are regularly monitored and secured, available from many regular routes throughout the station.

They have a good altitude in the resort but the T - lift belongs to the 1980's :) For their own sake I would recommend they change these to 4 and 6 pers. chair lift + it is possible to expand the area in more directions.

Świetne miejsce z małą liczbą narciarzy. Długie, szerokie trasy, wspaniałe klimatyczne restauracje na stoku. Cudowne widoki.

Very nice resort, we have enjoyed especially tunnel gondola :-) A lot of snow, nice slopes.
