Although it has only 30 km of slopes, Rauris can prove to be a hit for those going to ski with their family or people who are just beginning their adventure with skis.
A quick gondola lift carries skiers to a height of 2,200 m above sea level (higher than the popular Zell am See), from where a narrow blue trail leads. After two minutes of skiing you can reach a wide hall, where you can practice carving turns. More advanced skiers will spend a really good time on the 1a and 1 routes, which can be reached by the Waldamlift T-bar lift. In view of the fact that part of the station is on the sidelines, usually there are no people here and you can practice on a very pleasant slope. The black ski run shown on the map is a disappointment – it involves slow skiing along a narrow trail to the bottom. It’s better to focus on the aforementioned route 1.
We recommend Rauris because of the great accommodation. The large ski resorts of Saalbach, Kaprun, Zell am See, Bad Gastein are only 30 minutes away by car and it’s an hour’s drive to Schladming or Flachau.

Rauristal ski resort reviews
we ordered an appartament for 6 with two bedrooms. I dont know how we would have fit in that beeing 6. One bedroom was with one double bed, the other bedroom was with bunk bed, and that was not mentioned in an appartament description. It's ok if you go with kids, but we were two adult couples! We were saved by a kind and understanding staff, who changed an appartament in the other building. It was a bigger and better maintained appartament, it has a washer and a dryer, which was very helpful.
We didnt try the slopes in Rauris though, we went to Zell am See and Bad Hofgastein.

Rauris is a really small resort. If you come with friends or a family it will be perfect. If you're looking for parties - switch to different destination.
All in all the ski runs were really well prepared (and we were in the middle of March!) .
For beginners and intermediates, Rauris will do for a week. Advanced skiers might be boredd after 2 days.

The place is very quiet to stay in and relax with family. People are nice and well educated. On mountain we have found rubbish, turists should be educated to be cleaner and be more respecful.

nice quiet friendly village. Not enough play areas for small children in the village. Good prices on food.
Amanda
I will choose again, good for starting, good for children. Small variety of runs.
Nikolay
