San Martino to Castrozza is a charming town, located near the Pala group massif. Three ski stations offer a total of 60 km of slopes from 1400 to 2350 m above sea level.

The largest ski resort in San Martino di Castrozza is a group of connected areas, situated under the peaks of Cima Tognola (2383 m.a.s.l.) and Punta Ces (2,227 m.a.s.l.). 46 km of ski runs are available to skiers here, mostly intermediate and easy. The trails run down open, sunny slopes and a large amount of off-piste areas have been left next to them. Regardless of the chosen trail, you can ski with a view of eight fantastic peaks that make up the Pala group. Access to the Tognola-Ces runs is possible from ski lifts located outside the centre of the locality. In the centre, a learning center for beginners has been opened, where novices and children can take their first steps on skis or boards. A similar training trail has been created on the Alpe Tognola mountain at an altitude of 2,200 m above sea level.

On the opposite side of San Martino di Castrozza lies the Pala group, along with Altopiano delle Pale di San Martino - at an altitude of 2700 m above sea level, it is the largest plateau in terms of surface area that is situated at such a high altitude. Ski touring trails have been opened across 70 square kilometers, while in the summer it is a place for hiking. The plateau can be reached by cableway, which takes skiers up to the Rosetta peak (2743 m).

Off-piste experts can try skiing between the rocks directly below the gondola route. Below that, 3 km of intermediate and easy trails of the Col Verde station have been routed, which is very popular three evenings a week, when it is possible to ride after dark.

San Martino is located fifteen minutes by car or 25 minutes by ski bus from the Passo Rolle ski station. This area consists of 15 km of trails set at a height of 1900–2200 m above sea level.

Two towns belong to the region. San Martino di Castrozza, giving its name to the entire region, is the choice for people who want to avoid using a car during their ski holiday. Fiera di Primiero, where you can find a number of attractively priced hotels and apartments, is 12 km away from San Martino.

San Martino di Castrozza (Passo Rolle) ski resort reviews

A lovely family resort, really geared to children. A disappointment that there were hardly any English speaking ski instructors so language was a barrier for English-speaking children.
